Mike Morgan, Owner-Lead Instructor

Mid-Michigan Kennels Inc., is owned and operated by Michael G. Morgan.

Mike served in the U.S. Army for 24 years and retired honorably.

Mike has been a Police Canine Handler, working both a dual purpose narcotics and a single purpose explosive canine.

Mike has trained dogs and handlers in four foreign countries as well as across the United States. His expertise in the areas of narcotic and explosive detection and patrol canines is extensive. Mike served as a Master Trainer in these three areas for the International Police Work Dog Association (IPWDA) for over 10 years. He has since moved to “Dogs for Law Enforcement” (DLE), where he is accredited as a Master Trainer in these three areas as well.

Police canines trained by an experienced police officer and canine handler, not a civilian teaching police. This experience and dedication to your success is Mikes first priority.

William Burgoyne, Instructor

Bill Burgoyne had served in the U.S. Army for four years and is a Desert Shield/ Desert Storm combat veteran. Bill has been a Police Officer for over 20 years and has established and maintained a successful canine program with his department over the past 14 years. Bill is the Chief of Police for the White Pigeon Police Department in Michigan and also serves as the Assistant Team leader and dog handler for the St. Joseph County Michigan Multi-Jurisdictional Special Response Team. Bill has successfully worked three dual purpose patrol / narcotics dogs and has been certified through National Narcotic Detector Dog Association (NNDDA), International Police Work Dog Association (IPWDA), and United States Police Canine Association (USPCA).

Bill is a Master Trainer with Dogs for Law Enforcement (DLE) in the areas of Narcotics, Explosives, and Patrol.

Bill is a Police Instructor in several areas including Firearms, Defensive Tactics, Less Lethal and Distractionary Devices.

His dedication to excellence in police canine training is second to none.

Travis Rawson, Instructor

Travis Rawson has 15 years of Law Enforcement experience, serving in multiple capacities, including Police Officer, Field Training Officer, Patrol Sergeant, and K-9 Officer. Travis had a successful 10 year law enforcement K-9 handler career, working two dual purpose German Shepherds, trained in narcotics/patrol. Travis also served overseas as a professional contractor, working an Explosives Detection Dog in the Middle East, under some of the most challenging and extreme conditions a canine could be utilized in.

Travis has been nationally certified through the International Police Work Dog Association (IPWDA), National Narcotic Detector Dog Association (NNDDA), and the National Association of Professional Canine Handlers (NAPCH). Travis is a certified canine trainer in the area of Explosives.

Travis has a wide range of professional K-9 experience, both in law enforcement and the private sector. This experience consist of narcotics, explosives, tracking, building searches, article searches, handler protection, area searches, and obedience.

Travis is dedicated to training exceptional K-9’s through hard work and integrity.

All of our handler courses are Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards, (MCOLES), Ohio Peace Officers Training Academy (OPOTA), and Indiana Law Enforcement Association (ILEA) accredited.

Mid-Michigan Kennels Inc., uses only real narcotics and explosives to train our dogs. We NEVER use Pseudo materials.
